The ICAO General Meeting was held in association with biannual ICA General Assembly and other related meetings including ICA sectoral organisations¡¯ meetings. Agenda items listed for discussion included several amendments to the rules of the ICAO membership and budgetary matters plus plans for activities in 2006. Other important agenda discussed during the ICAO meetings are as follows.

- ICAO decided to rename ICAO as ¡°ICA Sectoral organisation¡±, which was previously named ¡°Specialized organization¡±. The amendment was initially suggested by ICA Secretariat in Geneva, Switzeland, and it was adopted by the ICAO members without comments or objection.

- ICAO approved a membership application for two organisations, The Forestry Cooperatives Central Union (ORKOOP) of Turkey and the Cooperative League of Thailand (CLT). Mr. Cafer Yuksel from the ORKOOP introduced himself and the organization. The two organizations were adopted as new ICAO members without objection.

- Seoul, Korea was decided unanimously by simple majority vote as next venue for 2006 ICAO GM.

- ICAO discussed issue involving draft agreement between ICA and ICAO on duties and responsibilities. Although ICA demands the Sectoral Organizations for further contribution of CHF 10,000 as annual remuneration, ICAO President expressed his negative opinion on the proposal. ICAO members in attendance agreed to respect the President¡¯s decision.

- At the end of the ICAO General Meeting, Mr. CHUNG, Dae-kun, the Chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation was newly elected as ICAO President after Mr. WON, Churll-Hee expressed his intention to resign from ICAO Presidency. Mr. CHUNG was the sole candidate, and he was elected by simple majority voting method.
